Is Hiiro useful for experienced runners?

Yes. Your plan adapts to experience, weekly availability and sessions you complete, so you’ll see tougher workouts, sharper pacing guidance and smarter tapering.

I was injured recently. Is it safe for me to train with Hiiro?

If you’re currently injured or unsure, speak to a medical professional first. In Hiiro, flag recent injuries during the assessment and we’ll ease you back in with conservative volume and intensity.

Do I need any Apple Watch to use Hiiro?

Not yet. We’ll share updates on our socials when Android app is ready.

How much does Hiiro cost, and do I get a free trial?

Prices and trial length are shown on the paywall before you subscribe. You won’t be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel beforehand in your iPhone Subscriptions.

What is Hiiro and how does it work?

Hiiro is a marathon-training app that creates a fully personalized and adaptive plan based on your needs and fitness. It uses Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) for training, not pace or heart rate. You pick a marathon from a stylish race catalog, get workouts synced to your Apple Watch, and chat with an AI coach who guides and motivates you.

Can I run a half marathon with Hiiro? 10km or 5km?

Hiiro is designed specifically for marathon training, so it focuses on preparing you for full marathon races. It does not offer plans for half marathons, 10km, or 5km distances.

How do I set up my first marathon training plan?

Just answer a few onboarding questions in the app, pick your target marathon from the race catalog (or add your own), and Hiiro will instantly create a personalized training plan for you. It’s quick, easy, and fully tailored to your needs.

Can I add my own race if it’s not in the catalogue?

Yes, you can add your own marathon if it’s not in the catalogue. Once you've gone through the catalogue you will be given an option to enter your race details and Hiiro will build your training plan around your chosen event.

What information do I need to start training with Hiiro?

You’ll need to provide your target marathon, current fitness level, weekly schedule, height, weight, age, and your recent longest run (if any). Hiiro uses this info to build your plan and never shares it with third parties.

Can I train with Garmin?

Hiiro does not support Garmin integration at the moment, but it is coming to Hiiro soon!

Do I need a smartwatch to use Hiiro?

You’ll need an Apple Watch to use Hiiro since workouts sync directly to the watch for easy tracking and guidance during your marathon training.

Can I use Strava?

Hiiro does not sync with Strava. You’ll need an Apple Watch to track your workouts and follow your training plan in the app. However, you can still use Strava independently and sync your workout to it.

Can I change my goal race after starting the plan?

Yes you can reset the race. Go to your profile and tap on the target race. There you will find an option to reset it. Tap on reset button and follow the instructions to select your new race.

How could I set up my goal time for the marathon?

You don’t need to set a goal time in Hiiro. The app builds your training plan using your fitness and runs by Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE), not by a specific target finish time. Just follow the effort levels, and you’ll get stronger and faster naturally to reach your best potential!

How much time do I need to prepare for a marathon?

Depending on your current fitness level we suggest different training time. If your current long run is over 21 km, you can get to a marathon on three months, while for complete novice runners it can take 30 weeks.

My BMI is over 30. Why does Hiiro not give me a training plan?

If your BMI is over 30, Hiiro will not create a training plan for safety reasons. Marathon training is very demanding, and starting with a lower BMI helps reduce health risks and keeps you safe on your running journey. We recommend starting with walking regularly and coming back to running when BMI reduces below 30.

Why do I need to select a minimum of 4 training days?

You need to select at least 4 training days because consistent running is key for safe and effective marathon preparation. Hiiro’s plans are built to help you progress and reduce injury risk by making sure you train often enough. Minimum of 4 days a week is crucial closer to the race, while at the start of your journey we'll give you less training days a week.

Do I have to train 4 times a week from week 1?

No that is not necessary. Minimum of 4 days a week is crucial closer to the race, while at the start of your journey we'll give you less training days a week if that fit your current level.

Why do I need to select a day for my longrun?

Choosing a day for your long run helps your training stay structured and balanced. Hiiro uses this info to place your key workout each week, making sure you recover well and build endurance safely. You can also change the day later by talking to the AI coach.
